Jaragua, your choice between the huge projection screen in the casino or smaller 25 inch screens in the nearby Champions sports bar. Bet with your head, not over it...

Have the yahoos at Champions finally realized that opening on sunday afternoon would be smart? last I checked they don't open till 6:00 at night.

My favorite is heading to Boca and watching the games on the satellite TV at Darren's Portofino. Usually a few gringos hanging out, and the beach is so close.

Just walk a few yards out back and you are in the water. Plus the stories ya here at this place!

Typical

Which brings me back to my first question, I need a place to watch Sunday Football in the Capital fro 1:00. A place which has full access(i.e. NFL sunday ticket). The fact that Champions doesnt open til 6:00PM is asinine.

which brings me back to my response - Jaragua casino

The games are shown on a very large projection TV as well as about 10 smaller screens surrounding it. The sports book opens before the casino. Enjoy the games. I'm not sure how many gringos you will find there, but if that is what anyone is looking for I think there are plenty in North America.

The information about Champions is...

...they open at 12:00 on Sunday for footbal action. They do not have the full NFL package on their satellite, sot the games are limited to what is on their cable. The Casino sports book does have the full access and I was able to watch my beloved Jets there.

This thread hasn't been posted on in quite sometime so I thought I'd bring a little bit of life into it, since this topic if of particular interest to me. I will be in DR from Sept through March and I would like to know which are the best places to go have a couple of cold presidentes and enjoy some football on sundays, or are the Champions Sports Bar and the Jaragua the only options available?
Do you have to be staying in the Jaragua in order to get in and watch the games?

Five Star Sports on the Malecon, not far from the Juaragua. Large, new, AC, tons of big screen TVs, and you can bet on your pick if you wish. They take bets in both Pesos and USD.
