As a new member I would love it if the member profile page offered a little more information. What's there is good but how about a little more optional information.

Such as:
Where are you from?
Where are you located?
Main interest(s) in DR:

Some more frivolous ones could be:
What is your favorite beach in the DR?
What is your favorite book (about the DR)?

Even though these would be optional I think a lot of members would fill them in.

Hope the webmaster will consider it!!

Your point was well meant, Quisqueya Girl, but I don't think the Webmaster will risk it. There are a lot of creative minds posting on this board.

Ken - so I can see! I guess the new people coming along are always full of silly well-intentioned ideas. A few more days and I'll be cured. :)

As an alternative, QG, individuals have started threads with questions like how many posters are from Maine (or whatever there home state or city happens to be). Additionally, if you "meet" someone on the board that you would like to know more about, you can send them an email or a PM by clicking the appropriate button under one of their posts.

Hello Quisqueya!!

Are you having sweet dreams with my picture? I know, I know. I am highly irresistible. Just too much style. Have you seen Criss Colon's? Oh, I forgot he never posted his picture because it would not fit the screen. Check out Pib and Jan. They are stiff competition for the girls.

I can do this just for the heck of it.
Norwegian. 26. Student. Will retire and maybe move to Santo
Domingo after graduating.
Currently in London.
Main interest in DR: To warm those frosty toes of mine ( Bloom County? ) or having them rubbed by my Dominican parttime bird.

Beaches: Mom likes the one in Boca Chica so that'll do.
Books: Ehm.. The ones I've done about Dominican history have
been good.

Next time in Santo Domingo should be in December in order to do
"research for my MA thesis".. I have to get that one past my tutor
without giggeling though.

This is what a friend of mine call a TBBS, a true but boring story..:)
So I'll leave it at that, and go back to my wrestling with the subjunctive mood in Spanish.

Happy days as they say over here ( Holy mother of God... )
