I know there is a departure tax of $10? please confirm this...but is there also a tax or fee to enter... or have I been getting ripped off?

The same fee is charged for the tourist card you get when you enter. Everyone pays on arrival and departure.

You pay US $10 for your tourist card for entry. A $10 exit fee is also charged. Check with your travel agent or airline because the exit fee may be included in your departure ticket price and is already prepaid as taxes. Regards, PJT

The charge was US$15 the last time I flew out of La Romana a few years ago, as they included an airport fee of $5.

American now includes the departure tax in the price of the ticket (at least they did in Sept, the last time I flew American).
