As part of a school project, I have to look into the tourism industry of the Dominican Republic. The title of the project is:

Is Tourism The Way Forward For The DR?

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could answer the next questions, or direct me on to more relevant information.

I need to research:
1)The growth of tourism so far because of its climate, resources (sand, sun and scenery) and its location.
2)The short and long term effects of the growth of tourism on the environment, the lives of local people and the economy of the DR.
3)Peoples views on the growth of tourism in the DR: a farmer, the tourist board, the local people, school leavers, national park wardens, conservationists etc..
4)Other influences on the growth of tourism such as sustainable development and ecotourism.

Any information on the above subjects would be greatly appreciated.
What would be even better is if you gave your own personal opinion of the growth of tourism on the DR!

Many thanks in advance,
