I was in DR in October, while I was I had the best hamburger I've ever tasted. I think it was called ChimmiChurry? I could only get it at hot dog stands late at night, Does anyone know to make one of these? I would apperciate any information. Thanks.

I eat them but still not sure if they'er good or not. A shit sandwich would taste good if your drunk enough! But really, I do like them no mattter what rodent they'er made of. Got sick on one once but that doesn't deter me. First time I saw cabbage on a burgerr was a little strange. But now I like cabbage better than lettuce. More textura and more flavor!
Yumm!!!

Like I said before...Nothing better than a Chimi (Either a chimi or de pierna), at 3:00 AM after you've been drinking. I had a bunch of them when I was down there in December.

I've also heard that there's a restaurant in NY called Chimichurri or something like that, that's one of Hillary Clinton's favorite places to eat.

I for one wish Burger King started selling them here...of course they probably would not taste the same without all the "extra taste" you get, being prepared right on the street in the DR.

suarezn,

They sell Chimichurris in NYC, in Washington Heights, of course. There are actually vans selling them in the street, like hotdog vendors.

I've never heard of that restaurant you mentioned, or it being Hillary's favorite, but who knows? She has enough Dominican interns working in one of her offices, so they probably turned her onto Chimis.

Co?o, we Dominicans are even capable of ruining a former First Lady's delicate palate!

Thanks for the replies, I see not to many people have good things to say about them. That's ok, I still enjoyed eating them. But one thing no one answered is how to make one?????

On page 24 of his autobiography the "G-Man" goes into one way to prepare a rat.

GOLO - there is this hot dog stand that everyone flocks to after partying all night in Santo Domingo. I can't even remember where it was because half the time I was wasted. I know for a fact that it's located across the street from a casino, on a corner, and there's an ice cream shop in front of it...I think. Anyways, do you know which place I am talking about? Those were some good hot dogs (rat, cat...).

Hey, Lou

Go to Pib's web site at dominicancooking.com and put in a request for a recipe. I haven't looked, but maybe its listed. I haven't been to the DR in a while so I'm still not sure what you are talking about.

Come on Chimmies along with Rikitaki and Sandwich de Pierna are great for the Human body, if fact I think less people have gotten sick off of them than eating at an All-inclusive hotel.

I would eat in the street before an AI anyday -

I have had a little lost Canadian girl staying with me for the past week. I took her to the park to get a burger. She was so excited about how they taste shes been there everynight buying one. She makes yummy sounds the whole time shes eating them! She makes me laugh. She is leaving tomorrow and she said the burgers are what shes going to miss the most!
Took her to the beach yestersday and there was a person selling food. She grabbed the fork form the lady...she thought it was a little smorgasboard and she could help herself. Me and my friends let her go tho...and the lady with the food just grinned. I love to show new people around here and just observe them.

Yea...love it here! And love it when I can share with and show others this wonderful country. So if you want to share in my little world come and visit me.
The little canadian girl was all alone in a bar and being hit on by every guy there so I came to her rescue. Told her if she needed anything to call me. She is staying in Haiti and when she couldn't return last week, the busses wouldn't go there. She called me and has been staying here for the last week. If I had a big house I'd probably be picking up all the strays. Dogs and humans included. And of course get them a dominican burger!
