Just be sure you get out and see some of the area. After you have investigated Cabarete, take a guagua or publico (public car, pass through Cabarete with blue sign on the roof) to Sosua. Very inexpensive, about RD$10/person.

You can also get to Puerto Plata very inexpensively in public transportation.

Great food, great ambiance

Worst thing about Cabarete is leaving.
