Yea. You left out my favorite bipe de Carta Blanca. By far the best 12 peso rum available. Goes down real well with Crema cigarettes.
As an alternative, try King's Label whiskey. Inimitable!

Brugal is the king of all Chopo Rums.
We couldn't list all the brands of Rum so we left out Imperial which is a fine Rum. We also left out Siboney and the white rums

brugal is cheap here (if you want to call cheap, a bottle costing $13.99 usd). barcelo imperial only one liquor store carried it and it's being on the shelf for two years because the price is $25.00 usd a bottle. i had been waiting for the price to drop to no avail. i will have to wait for the summer went i will go to Santiago.

Don't know bout you guys but the chopo rum has been giving me the shits lately. Thought I would give barcelo anejo another try (i saw the bottle has different cap) and it's been working fine for me. No headaches, no shit, the only bad thing (if you can call it bad) is after 4 or 5 drinks I get extremely hungry. And with PRESIDENTE beer at 35 pesos, I guess I'm keepeing my barcelo.
Why isn't the stuff Hillbilly's friend drinks in the poll? I wanted to vote for that "Brugal Annie Jo"!

Having just started to appreciate rums I have to put in my 2 cents. I like Ron Bermudez 1852 better than I like Barcelo Imperial which was me previous drink.
Any turkey that puts a decent rum in Mamajauana or a Cuba Libre is just plain flushing the good stuff down the toilet. Learn to drink it straight up or on the rocks and be a MAN finally!

This is an old Bajan recipe, to die for.
Barbados Rum Cocktail
1 of sour -- lime cordiale; traditional-- fresh squeezed lime juice
2 of sweet -- sugar water; traditional-- 'filernum' (more rum!)
3 of strong -- awesome rum
4 of weak -- water
secret ingredient: angostura bitters, splashes to taste
served on ice, stirred
*sugar water is 50/50 sugar & water, boiled to syrup
I promise to make big pitchers of this cocktail and bring it to parties. Caution: you will feel nothing until you suddenly realize you are unable to stand. Luckily, sun, wind, and a brisk swim minimize morning after effects.
