You don't need to post your inquiry in all the forums. Everybody reads all the forums anyways.

These are some threads where we already discussed that. Check if your answer is there, I believe it is. If you don't find the answer then come back to this thread and ask again.

FYI:

You, as the son of two Dominican citizens, have a right to Dominican citizenship. You need to get proof of your parent's citizenship-thier passports or a certificate of their citizenship from the Consulate;
If you were born in the US, get a copy of your birth certificate.

Take all this to the Cedula office.

As for the DR driver's License, if you REALLY need one, you take your US license, show it to the people in Obras Publicas and you should get a DR license with just the "Te?rico" ..BUT why?????

You can drive here with your US license....

Question... Can you go to the Dominican Consulate in the US and have them verify that the NY drivers license is good? Does this all have to be done in the DR?

Also is there a US Consulate in Puerto Plata? Santiago?

Thanks

Jazzcom, there is a Consular Agency in the north coast city of Puerto Plata at Calle Beller 51, 2nd floor, office 6, telephone (809) 586-4204; office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. The consular agency has a secondary office in Sosua, also on the north coast. That office may be reached at: "Sea Horse Ranch Project" Administrative Office, Carretera Sosua - Cabarete, Sosua, D.R., telephone (809) 571-3880, fax (809) 571-2374.
