Our reservations are confirmed and our bags almost packed to begin our adventure to the Victorian House in Sosua! Many thanks to DR1 and Rob for their efforts in making this excursion available! First time I've ever won anything of real value and I'm looking forward to exploring more of the North Coast and meeting more of the DR1 "regulars".
Arrangements have been made to stop in Santiago on the trip up to visit briefly Hillbilly Hovel for lunch Saturday.
Then it's on to Sosua to settle in and meet up with Jazzcom for dinner.
After dinner Saturday night a stop at Eddy's Bar is in order and hopefully some others of the crew will be there to meet and greet both Jazz and ourselves (are you going to show AZB?).
HB is making arrangements with BushBaby for a round of golf at Playa Dorado on Sunday so we may also get to meet "She who must be Obeyed" sometime during our stay.
Suggestions will be taken from Jazz,HB,BB et al as to what we should see and where we should go while there.
Thursday morning it will be back to Santiago to meet up with HB and sample Hillbilly fare again before heading to the links at the local course. I've already warned HB that while I play golf I'm not a golfer or rather I'm a 6 par golfer on a 3 par course so we should have a few laughs on Sunday and Thursday when I demonstrate my ineptness at the game!!
Hopefully we'll also have time for a quick stop at the cigar factory either on Thursday or Friday morning before we head home to Juan Dolio. Camp David will be our overnight stop in Santiago.
So stay tuned and I'll make a full report when we arrive back at base.
If you think of it say a prayer that our little car carries us well to our destination and home as it's getting as old as I and really hasn't had anything major go wrong with it yet. Now would not be a good time to make it's age apparent!!
To quote an infamous persona "Hasta la Vista Baby!!"
