Which months are considered "slow season" in the D.R. ? I assume that in the "off-season" everything would be a little cheaper - flights, car rental, etc. I sailed into Luperon in 1991 and now want to take my wife to the D.R. We are about to liquidate our assets and the D.R. seems like the place to relocate...I remember how wonderful the people are and how beautiful the country is. I'm also not that naive that I believe there are no flaws in "paradise". So we will come soon for a month to the north coast (although I loved Samana) and check it out. Any help appreciated. This is a great forum. Thanks

The off season months are May and September-October.

There is a major golf/marina/residential development planned for Luperon that might even include Greg Norman as an investor. If you enjoyed Luperon, you might consider this new development once it gets off the ground.

Dolores, thanks for your response. We will certainly visit Luperon. I've heard from other sailors that it's changed a bit in 12 years...
