I am in the process of obtaining Dual citizenship from (US to DR). I have done all the necessary here in US to make the process easier there. BUT as we all know here and there are two VERY VERY different worlds. I have a co-worker who has a cousin that works in the JCE, and the process was suppose to go very smooth and quick, but it didn't. I want to know what is the real process, and do I need legal rep. on obtaining Dual citizenship. My parents are Dominican,
1. Parents are Dominican, and I got their birth Certificates legalized at the counsel?s office.
2. Birth certificate translated, and legalized by counsels office.
3. Letter from the sec. of State office legalizing birth.
4. legal letter from counsel?s office legalizing dual citizenship.
