Talking It's just around the corner!

Santo Domingo is expecting 1 or 2 people for the Pan American Games so we thought we would put up a forum to help out those people that have questions concerning the games.

If anyone has any news that they would like to share concerning the games, feel free to post.

    Rob.

I drove by a couple of the facilities and they don't appear to being even close to finished yet the games are only a couple of months away. Anyone have any more info on how the planning is going?

Was at the Pan Am Games offices yesterday and speaking to an executive of the Venezuelan company that is repairing the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center was told the delivery date of the facilities there is 25 July.

Majority of facilities are unfinished, some are 40% only, so what should we expect?

    Question Pan Am Games

I would like information on the Pan Am Games and women's water polo. Information that would be helpful includes:
    a) first and last dates for women's water polo events,
    b) confirmation women's water polo will be in Santo Domingo
    c) sites for locating housing/hotel convenient to the site for water polo
    d) how to get information on tickets. Thanks

We are working to have the information that answers your questions on the sports available on 1 June.

For the time being, note that any hotel in the city of Santo Domingo will be convenient to the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center -- which is centrally located. The furthest hotel will be less than half an hour away. There are aparthotels in the area, too. Next week we should have up a list of hotels and contact details.

Regarding tickets, we have been told the government has not yet decided on a price. This information could be available next week, we have been told. As soon as it is available, we will post it.
