It's a good thing that the peso hasn't dropped to 33.66, or the savings of Dominicans would have been wiped out completely in the last year, with a 100 percent loss.

For those who have held pesos since they were equal with the dollar, there has been almost a 3000 percent loss. What a mountain of debt they must have now. Better throw them away as soon as they lose 100 percent.

That puts new meaning into the expression of money burning a hole in one's pocket.

Of course, when I personally see a football coach talk about how his team is going to win by giving 110 percent, I see how quickly I can change the channel - or better yet bet against them.
