OK, where in Santo Domingo and Boca Chica BESIDES the bars can I find Dominican men looking to play? I'm not overly interested in an "escort." Maybe a hotel worker, or a soldier, or a shop owner, or ... I need some help here. Give me some hotels, streets, businesses, beaches, anything, to get me started. I arrive shortly. Thanks.

I have seen gay men in the DR but I have no idea on any bars or areas that cater to the alternative lifestyle. You mentioned Boca Chica, and I for one, have seen male tourists with a Dominican lover, more than likely a pay for play situation but in Boca Chica and tourist areas that is what you will run into. If you are on the beach and keep your eyes peeled you will always be able to spot a gay man looking for companionship. That is all the help I can be on this subject. I say, to each their own.

The DR is not only part of this ,but an EXAMPLE!You are coming to a "Dirt Poor" country mainly for CHEAP sex.If it was only for sex,why travel here to get laid,I bet people "Screw" where you come from too!The overwhelming majority of the population here are POOR! I have lots of gay/bi friends in the U.S. but it's not the same here. Keep in mind that lots of Dominican guys you meet on the beach or in bars will 'play' but will be doubly secretive about it 'lest any of their friends find out - even if all their friends are doing the same thing.
Best bet here on the NC would be to find a friend to look around for you if your 'gaydar' isn't working for you. Tip him well, and treat your SO well and have fun - but be SAFE. You know what I mean.

Just about time for my trip to the DR. I need to know about gay oriented places in the Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo, and Boca Chica. My guidebook says Boca Chica is "virtually a gay cruising ground at night." What does this mean exactly?
I am also interested in meeting Dominican papis, between 20 and 40 years of age. Where are the places I am likely to have the most success with this effort?
Any other tips, comments, suggestions, etc., are appreciated. Gracias.

I do not know of any "gay bars" and from what the others have posted, I take it they do not know as well. Don't expect to find openly gay professional/business men who want a lover, expect a gay sex worker who wants money for his time and for anything else that develops between you and him. Don't worry about it, just hit the BC beach and walk around town and you will find them, they are easy to spot.

Never been there before. I am going on business but also for pleasure/vacation. Dominican men are among the most handsome on earth. And I have been all over earth.

I attended a wedding Saturday night in an Evangelical church in Sosua. During the wedding ceremony, the minister talked for 5-10 minutes about weddings being only for "mixed couples, a man and a woman" and not for two men or two women. Not much tolerance for gays among that group.
