help for a vet student?

A friend of mine is in veterinary school and is looking for possible internships for next summer (summer of 2004). In the DR1 archives, an organization in Puerto Plata called ?Los Amigos de los Animales? (LADA) was mentioned, but I can?t seem to find very much information about it. Does anybody know of it? And does it have a website?

I would appreciate any information you might have about this other similar organizations in the Dominican Republic.

LADA is not very active

I was with the organizer of that group a couple of weeks ago and she said that the folks in POP are not THAT worried about dogs in the street. The "authorities" have started an elimination campaign, poisoning any group of dogs seen in town. According to her, there are a lot fewer dogs running around.

You might try the "Can?filo " Association or any of the Vet shops or major vet supply houses and see if they can use your friend's services for free next summer....
