We are in our mid fifties and hoping to retire next year from the cold wet UK to somewhere warm and sunny. Have looked at Spain not for us although cheap flights for family have decided to look further a field. Have been to the DR about three times on holiday now and love it. But we realise that being on holiday and living in a place is very different. We are trying to put together some information before our next visit to look at property. Can anyone tell us roughly the cost of health cover, tax, utility bills etc Also are there any things we should be aware of when looking at property any places to avoid etc. Will appreciate any information or contact from any expats.
