Guys,

I've been searching around for better information about what to do during an earthquake to increase chances of survival.

I now know that standing in the doorway is a bad idea, and crouching on the floor doesn't seem very useful either. The lack of information seemed to suggest that nothing could be done during the quake, which didn't seem right.

Today I found this article, and I strongly suggest you read it and practice it in your home.

And another by the same guy:

And an article discussing people's misconceptions about surviving earthquakes: http://www.amerrescue.org/seattle.htm

In addition, I found an earthquake alarm which is recommended by the same people: http://www.earthquakestore.com/alarms.html

I purchased one, they're only $35 with shipping.

I hope this is useful,

Adrian
