Thanks for the helpful information. We're considering the Coyamar, Atlantis Hotel or Playa Colibri. Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on these places? We will be in DR late Nov - early Dec. (praying for good weather)

Hello,

My girlfriend and I are taking our first trip to DR. We've heard that the Samana area, specifically Las Terrenes is a great place to visit. We are flying into Santo Domingo in late November. Is this a good time to visit? How can we get to Las Terrenas (car or plane?)? Where can we stay at a reasonable price with great food and beautiful beach? We are really looking to relax and have a romantic time together. All and any suggestions are appreciated.

We stay at Atlantis and Playa Colibri.

Atlantis is more intimate and romantic on Playa Bonita a few miles away from Las Terrenas, great food, for the area, but not cheap.

Playa Colibri is more of a family oriented Residence, with a pool where the kids will splash all day and is fun for all. Las Terrenas restaurants and supermarkets are not far away from Playa Colibri, 10 pesos motoconcho ride.

For the hand in hand couples, Atlantis is the place.

Don't forget to write a report of your trip, here on DR1
