Sad to say as a Dominican-American, this is my first trip during New Years to DR. I will spend New Years in Santo Domingo, but my question is after that.
I am going to the Riu Resort in Bahia Maimon beginning Jan 2 and was curious if many of the locals travel to the hotels during that weekend or how crowded the resorts typically tend to be. I have gone many times during Easter and love the clientelle of locals during that period.
