Hi all,

My wife and daughter want to swim with dolfins. I know the newly opened Ocean orld offers that. Any of you been there. I don't think it's fully operating yet, is it?

Any feedback would be appreciated. It doesn't say how much it is on their web site. Anyone knows.

Thanks,

ecarignan

On the Ocean World web site, you can get prices for the different programs offered by going to the 'reservations,' 'booking form,' and then 'prices.'

Yes, it is one of the better facilities in the world. You need to book swimming with the dolphins well in advance.

I have been there with my family in June. Allthough some of the facilities were still in construction at this time (probable most is done now?), it doesn't affect the dolphin program and your visit there.
It is truely a 'once in your life experience', we all just loved it. It's quite expensive, but really worth it. I wish I could go again one day. Have fun and make sure to book well in advance (at least 2 weeks).

Hi ecarignan,

Greetings from Nova Scotia.

In addition to the Ocean World website ( http://www.ocean-world.info/ ) you will find information at Rusty's "Unofficial" Riu Website ( http://www.riubambu.com ) - I am the Discussion Board Moderator and a Website Director. The section is located at ( http://www.riubambu.com/RIU_WEB_PAGES/MENU/PEURTO_PLATA/ocean_world/ocean_world_ENTER.htm )

Another option is to review the postings (for information) in our Ocean World Adventure Park section of our Discussion Board at ( http://www.riubambu.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi?pg=topics ) Here the General Manager of Ocean World posts under the name of Dolphin_man and he will answer your questions directly (he posts on this board also, under another name).

F.Y.I., If you go to the reservations section of the Ocean World Website, then click on Reservation Form and then click on Booking Policy and Prices you will find your pricing. Here is the link - http://www.catdesign.net/policy.htm

We have had many reports from Riu guests and without exception they have been very complimentry to the Ocean World Staff and Management. I highly recommend this facility.

One side note to which Dolores alluded is that the last I heard the Dolphin Swim was booked up about two weeks in advance. This generally means that unless you book before you leave for the DR, you will probably NOT get to do your swim unless they just happen to get a cancellation you could use (don't count on it).

Have fun.

dolphins

Hy

Ocean world is a very good place to swim, touch, ... with the dolphins

i was there in june without reservation but it's better to call them and make a reservation because the tourists takes all the reservations

People are very kind and you can touch dolphins,They will not be aggressive as in some parks.

There is also fishes ( big aquarium) and sea lions.
It is a little expensive, to swim with dolphins it's 120 $ and for touch, kisses, contact with dolphins it's 75 $

enjoy

age limits

We wanted to take our 5 1/2 year old grandson to Ocean World last week, but he had to be 8 years old to be "kissed" by the sea lions. I don't know if there's an age requirement for the dolphins.
