Can someone give me the approximate driving time from Sosua to Nagua and 2 or 3 places to stop along the way - some suggestions for where to lunch too, please? I'd like to see some nice beachfront residential possibilities well east of Cabarete, if they exist. Thanks - D

trip time should be about two hours.

There are three good places to eat on the main road passing Cabrera.

The first is "Restaurant Italiana" on the right hand side after the Isla gasoline station (second light). Run by an Italian chef, everything here is excellent, especially seafood. The steak is also excellent quality. Meals run from about 150 to 250 RD.

The second is "El Dorado" on the left hand side at the first light. Basically the same menu and prices as number one, but sometimes slower and the service is not always as good. Also great pizza here.

The third is a typical dominican food thatched roof place across from the Isla station. Good dominican food and cheap with reasonable service. Fried chicken or pulpo or lambi are my favorites here. My wife and I, plus two small children can eat here for as little as 200 RD.

Have fun.

There are other places in town but the directions get too complicated.
