My wife and I have for several years spent part of the winter in Florida. We often think about considering alternatives.
While we again expect to go to Florida this winter, we have wondered if DR is a good alternative. We don't speak Spanish, but have traveled to dozens of Countries and are not concerned.

I am now looking into a week's vacation at an AI, with two objectives: golf and exploring opportunities for seasonal rentals.

Where should we go: :La Romana, Puerto Plata or Pubta Cana?

We would want a seasonal rental in an reasonably upscale area, probably with expats, nearby the usual amenities: groceries, restaurants, golf, tennis.

Can anybody advise me? Thanks.

Not Punta Cana

For condo rentals I would recommend the Puerto Plata area. Several posters on this site have condos to rent. Check out posts by Eddy or Escott for more info or PM them. The North Coast has all of what you are looking for. I cannot speak for the LaRomana area.
