Has anyone had any experience in obtaining financing for a DR developed property from a bank located outside of the DR? The loan amount would be for approx.$ 600,000 US.Would be interested in any information, experiences, sugggetions.
Now that Banco Mercantil has been bought by Republic Bank of Trinidad & Tobago, it is certainly possible to transfer money to a T & T subsidiary in the Cayman Islands - all quite legal. So I wonder if the reverse is possible viz to obtain money from them? Added advantage is that most of their paperwork is dual language - Spanish & English.
Which country are you presently living in & what collateral do you have there? The answers to these questions could have a large impact on the advice given!!

Live in the U.S.-have more than enough collateral here to use if I wanted to re-fi and use money to make purchase there but am more interested in exploring alternative ways of doing the deal.
