my family and I wil be ariving in Cabarete on saturday for a long anticipated trip to DR. This website has been so informative. Does the DR have daylight saving time.

No. DR time is fixed, does not change. Right now clocks in the DR are one hour ahead of the time in the eastern coast of the US.
