Can anyone tell me how much a bottle of Presidente is now, as we are going over in June. We were there last year and it was about 35 peso's. Last time we got 50 peso's to the pound sterling, this time we got 75. Just wondering if it has gone up as a result of this.

I brought back some Presidente in cans and they were 45 pesos each. On exchange for USD to RD Peso, it was roughly $1 US to 40 pesos. I don't know how that translates to the pound sterling though.

We just got home a few days ago from 3 weeks in the DR. My son-in-law paid 28 pesos each for cans in Boca Chica. Peque?as were 30 to 60 and Grandes ranged from 45 up depending on location.

What can a presidente cost in a bar now?

I know it will vary from bar to bar but can you give me a rough idea?

eh? Anywhere from 30-150 pesos depending on the bar. Bars in Cabarette are all dolarized now and charge 2-3 bucks a beer. Colmados are charging about 25-30 pesos for a small one, and 40 for a large one.

How Much

[Last week I paid 40-45 pesos in Sosua for a pequeno in the bars although in one dining room I paid 75 pesos + percent, only one visit there though. At Playero on the highway a six pack of cans was 153 pesos.

Looks like it depends on what the market will bear. Good ole Capitalistic theory.
It would seem also that the gouge factor is running amock on the North Coast.

prices

Each trip I make down I notice the most prices stay about the same in dollars regardless of the exchange rate. Is this safe to assume for most things? I quite trying to remember in peso and just go by the dollar price for my planning.
