Reading some of the news reports and they are saying it's around a 70% turnout.
High turnouts are usually related to rejection votes.

Street talk..

Any estimate on when there will be confirmation as to who won?

Larry

The word on the street around her, Sosua, Cabarete and Sabaneta, is that Leonel is winning overwhelmingly.
Nothing official of course, but that's what everybody is saying.

In the US each television network does exit polling. They select a certain number of voters at random as they are exiting the polls and make statistical inferences from those polls. It is quite reliable but hardly official.

The Dominican Republic's laws prohibit that any entity other than the JCE emit information about results or politics during voting day. Most parties already know who won by means of their internal reading of voting acts but are not allowed to make any of that information public.
