I've been trying to figure this out...I know they are mostly affecting the border, but did they reach SD at all? And how far is Jimani from Santo Domingo?

The river levels of the Isabela and Ozama Rivers caused flooding of the people who live on the lower banks, but those people know they are in a danger zone, and know they have to leave when it rains.

Otherwise, the floods just brought the usual flooding of city streets until the waters drained. This is why in Santo Domingo you see so many SUVs and high up vehicles. Flooding of the streets is normal.

Santo Domingo is about a six hour drive from Jimani. According to my Berndtson & Berndtson map it is a 280 km. trek.
