Has anyone any suggestions of places to visit in Santo Domingo? That they have actually been to?

Usually what I do is when I get to Santo Domingo I ask my cousins where is the hot spot at the time.
Some places die out after some time. When are you going? I'll be there on the 18th I'll find out then.
