This event is held the last week of July through the first week of August. Which should be 30 July to 5 August this year. Merengue Festival always coincides with the anniversary of hte city of Santo Domingo which is 5 August. This year, there is a government changeover on 16 August, but suppose the festival goes regardless. Will try to get confirmation for you.
