Don't know what you mean by a real time update, but yesterday afternoon there were hundreds of kite surfers, wind surfers and any kind of small craft with a sail out on the bay. Lots of wind... every afternoon.

Winds in Cabarete

When it blows, it blows! When it doesn't you all hang around the beach asking us locals "When is it gonna blow"?
What the hell do we know?
Generally, if it's flat calm at 06.00 hours in the morning then it will blow later! If the breeze is up and there are waves at that time - it won't blow later!!
(But nobody listens to an old cataraman sailor anymore!!)
IT NEVER EVER BLOWS IN THE MORNING!! So why report the daily winds at 08.00am?
Stop being lazy and do the weather thing like we used to!! Can't you people sail in light winds? Didn't that used to be part of the challenge?

Haha, Peter, only a real sailor would ask this question.
Once you experience dousing a torn Genoa in surprise, but sustained, winds of 60 kts. offshore, relative calm is a joyous experience.

Been there, done that, had the T-Shirt torn off my back ('tis better to be Captain behind the dodger than a deck ape...).
