Troncoso was one of the PRSC faction which supported Leonel in election, & broke ranks with PRSC candidate Estrella. This group was already in "coalition". Not sure about Estrella's faction, though.

Is the newly appointed director of the Public Works Supervisory Office Felix Bautista being given a second chance at the job? The press at the end of the Fernandez administration carried many stories of corruption in office regarding his performance in government. He was one of the most openly criticized at the time, for being a story of from rags to riches in the Fernandez administration.

It is interesting that some of the names that were under a cloud (PEME and other alleged corruption scandals) are prominent in the list of new appointments. Some of these cases, unless I have missed something, are still in process. If the charges have not been dropped, should they be allowed to hold public office?

Then again, if Hippo was able to have Pepe Goico as head of security when the lottery fraud case was still open, I suppose anything goes.

What about Jaime David?

It seems that Jaime David Fernandez has not been considered for any position of importance by the 'new' administration. Does anyone have any information his wheraeabouts? Inquiring minds wish to know... :ermm:

From the BBC article:

One opposition spokesman said he had gone against "good ethics".

"There are many others Fernandez could have chosen," said Rafael Peralta, a spokesman for the defeated incumbent president, Hipolito Mejia.
Bolding mine.

Ahhh! The irony, the irony, it is just too much for me to bear

Does anyone have the email address to Minister of Public Health: Sabino Baez?

The DR Gov. websites have been less than cooperative.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if the decendents of the Mirabal sister's were re-elected to Congress?

I read that at least on of their children was serving in Congress during the last administration.

Wasn't one of the children in a cabinet postion of some kind under hippo?
