Second time he's gotten a DUI.
He was on probation until late October of this year for his first offense which occured in 2000, when he won the NL Rookie of the year. If he didn't try and fight that first conviction, this one likely wouldn't have gotten him jail time. It seems to me he'll be locked up for a bit.
Also, in his first conviction it was revealed that he was 22, not 19 like he was claiming. Go figure.
In an odd aside, he was still in jail as of this afternoon. His family (inexplicably) couldn't - or wouldn't - come up with the $3,200 bond to spring him.
Why wealthy professional athletes take these stupid risks is beyond me - like it said in the DR1 news yesterday - you can't change the culture.
