Here is the warning that is posted -- A HURRICANE WATCH AND A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR
PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN COASTS OF THE DOMINICAN
REPUBLIC FROM CABRERA SOUTHWARD TO SANTO DOMINGO.

No, I am not a professional meterologist - at most a keen and experienced amateur. Most all weather information is come by through "others", i.e., syndicated weather information - our DR1 forecasters work with syndicated information, from Noaa, and frequently from CaribWX as well as other organizations.
