I'm going to be flying into the airport in Santiago and I'm curious to know how close the Caribe Tours and Metro stations are from that airport.

Thanks, in advance, for that info!

How much?

Anyone have any idea what I should be expecting to pay to get to either station? Pesos or dollars is okay. As well, is there anyway to not use the tourist taxis and pay perhaps a little less? In my four months in Puerto Plata this summer, I definitely saw the difference in price between the tourist taxis and regular taxis and I'm just wondering if there's something similar in Santiago and how I can possibly avoid that.

As you come out of the Airport Customs area

Ask if "Rafaelito " is there. If he is, he is driver #1 of the syndicate that services the airport. YOu can't miss him., He is about 5'5" and rotund with a smile a mile wide.

Just tell him that I sent you-use my real name- and he will give you the very best price for a ride into town. It is aobut 15 minutes to the Metro or Caribe bus station and they are on the smae little street: MAimon.

Cordially, HB :D:D Who thinks you might want to call him from the airport...??
