I was wondering if anyone knows an email address I can use to contact the
Playa Las Bellenas Residencia in Las Terrenas.
I have a telephone number (1 809 240 6572) but always get a bad connection and cannot hear/understand the person on the other end.

Thanks for any help
Gary

Try this.

b.lasballenas@codetel.net.do

I got it from their page at samana.net. Bear in mind that it may take some time to get a reply as I think things are still not back to normal as far as power/phone lines etc (?)

Good luck,

Rose

Gary,

Land phones are working in Las Terrenas, Punta Bonita and not in Playa Coson. Internet ADSL is down from September 16, only dial-up at the moment.

Power is back on in most parts of Las Terrenas, the one close to the power
station in La Ceiba are the first one to have power, Playa Popy area was with
out power, as this morning.

Damages to hotels in the area are with in a wide range, from minor to major.

Most of the damages are to the roof, inside water
damages(when the roof is leaking, inside is geting wet, matresses, etc.) and
to the landscape, in one case from 75 palm tree, only 20 left standing.

The beaches suffered some erosion damages, don't forget a hurricane pass
through, but they are always beautiful, and the sun was shining this morning.

Lucky no loss of life in Las Terrenas, well maybe a few chickens got
sacrifice, but to the benefit of some hungry people.

The good news is the community spirit is a live and well in Las Terrenas,
people help each other in a crisis situation and they will clean up and
rebuilt better then before.

Las Terrenas need tourism, the whole town is geared towards providing services to the tourism industry, don't be scared, go and enjoy yourself, people will welcome you and appreciate your gesture.

But is it the same place

Thanks for your prompt replies, I am feeling happier about visiting DR every passing day, never having been before I still think it will be great to see.

I saw the email address on Samana.net as well but it looked like it was a different place as the telephone number was different, and the website said they were called Hotel Bahia.
I will try and send them an email anyway just in case they are one and the same.
