I'll be visiting Santiago from N.Y. in a few days. Can anyone tell me if my nextel cellphone (bought in N.Y.) will work in Santiago. If not, what can I do to make it work?

******NOTHING******* get a GSM or CDMA 1900 MHZ phone nextel will not work here.

hold on guys/...if he has the nextel i2000 with GSM capabilities then it will work.

let's ask him, Sir do is your nextel a i2000?

No, I don't have a nextel i2000. I brought my cellphone down there and it didn't work (true to your words). I returned from Santiago today. Thanks. Going down there is alot of fun - but alot of $!!
