Hello (Hola)

I want to say hi to everyone here and wish a very very happy new year. This is my first post and I want if any want be my friend and know about my country Dominican Republic , can feel free to do it ( sorry, for my english because maybe is not the best but I try).
I knew about this website by my boyfriend who is now my husband, we met eachother over 2 year age in internet and now we have a family with an incredible littler boy, I'm living in Michigan close 9 month, I'm Dominican with 27 year old who was born in Santo Domingo but lived in San Jose de Las Matas half part of my life cause my father die and we had to move there because my mom's family and dad family are from there and my mom felt more confortable living close to them after my dad gone. I'd live like 5 year in there after that but I'd back to santo domingo for get college done and have a better job, I worked in different place like Occidental Hotels company, with the corripio company , to Autocamiones (they are who export the isuzu brand to my country) and the Jaragua Hotel & casino. I know a little bit about nice places where you can go to have fun at night in santo domingo free of hookers where better class people go. I'm starting a marriage life I'm knew in this bussines so any advise is welcome to me, I'm a very jeallous and I hate lies or people trying to play with feelings , I could be a very good friend and I would like to find some ( if speak spanish would be great) because where I live there's no dominicans around me , Me gustaria encontrar algun dominicano (a) por aqui ya que nuestra raza es mas calida y me harian sentir que no estoy abandonada en una cultura que he descubierto no le importa mucho como el otro se siente. Well I hope get friends.
Sincerely,
Yesenia (sajomagirl)

Hola Yesenia,

Greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada and welcome to DR1.

You do not need to apologize for your English - it's better than my Spanish.

I am glad to hear that you and little Howie are settling in, in Michigan and I am sure you will bring a fresh point of view to DR1.

Best regards,

Gregg

Gracias por su mensaje, Yesenia. Bienvenidos a dr1.

Donde vive en Michigan? Yo crec?a y viv?a en Michigan por muchos a?os. Ahora vivo en la Rep?blica Dominicana. He vivido aqu? desde 1986.

No, no hay muchos dominicanos en Michigan. Mexicanos pero pocos Dominicanos.

Your English is very good. No se preocupa tanto.

Lo sab?a! SAJOMA!!

Now, since this is an English language site, I had better tell you that you are most welcome here. We always need new people. Your work history in Santo Domingo sounds interesting...Pep?n, Jaragua and so forth.

There should be several Dominicans in Detroit, I am sure that if you look for them you will find them.

Fel?z A?o Nuevo!!

Hi Yesennia, don't feel bad about Michigan,
I am a Dominican living here with the Eskimos in North Pole Alaska
but it's all good I know a couple of families here and you know how we Dominicans are, Where one goes the others follow and next thing you know Michigan would be Little DR.

Ohhh and don't take this the wrong way, but to say "no deje de escribirme en ingles es " Don't stop writing me" Here is where english gets confusing and we can't translate to english the exact way we really speak spanish.

Hola sajomagirl

I am from Southern Ontario in a little town north of Toronto, Canada. Your English is just fine. I wish I could say something to you in Spanish but I only know the odd word. I would love to have a Dominican friend and learn anything about your country you wish to share. I have visited the Dominican Republic just one time, but my wife and I loved it. I hope to return for another visit in the near future, right now I have two daughters 1 and 4 years old that we are not ready to travel with yet. Boy thats a big change moving to Michigan from the Dominican Republic. Do you you like the snow? I don't mind snow, especially at Christmas time but I would like more warm tropical breezes for the rest of the year. Feel free to write me if you wish at any time. If you want to know anything about Canada feel free to ask.

Take Care

Hola

Hola Yessenia

I'm a Canadian married to a Dominicana from Jarabacoa, but she lived in Santo Domingo for 11 years while going to University and taught at several Catholic schools there. We live in a small town(Alliston) 45 minutes north of Toronto. Yris has adjusted to driving in the snow and working in Canada. Your English isn't too bad and will get better the more you practice. Remember that jealousy is insecurity. Good Luck in your new country and keep Dale on his toes. He can explain what that means, if you are not sure. Welcome to our DR1 community.
