Hi Everyone!!

I'm going to BC in a few weeks and would like to know if anyone has information on Hotel San Gabriel. Where in BC is it located? Is it close to the beach or the main strip? Reviews??

Thanks in Advance,

MCM

I have been from stem to stern in BC for years and have never heard of this place. How did you reserve it and how much is it - the price might be a clue - if $20 or less it will be a flophouse.

Hi MCM

I'll be interested in the reply to this as well as I don't recall this hotel (Sorry!)

But enjoy your trip. I hope you love BC as much as we do!

We leave on the 29th - can't wait!!

I guess it's called Hotel Angel Gabriel (same owners as Zapatas) ...they have a website

http://www.hotelangelgabriel.com/

Looks like a decent place but I'd like to know how close to the beach and the main strip it is. The lack of specific directions, location in BC and photos that show that lead me to believe across could mean "across town".

MCM

They say this but offer nothing as to across from the beach where exactly. I'd be interested in knowing as well - it looks quite new.

# Free Breakfast
# On-Site Restaurant
# Inground Pool
# High-Speed Internet in All Rooms
# 24 hr. Security
# Free Parking
# Across from Beach
# Close To Casino
# Two bedroom Suites with Kitchens available

From the website

"next to the south coasts' most exclusive resort with the regions only casino"

Would that be the Hamaca?

I just called the hotel and they said they are located on the Neptunos side of the Hamaca.

If my memory serves me correct, there isn't really a beach on that side of the Hamaca.

Still looks like a nice place if you don't mind the walk or don't mind jumping on a motoconcho.

Hotel Angel Gabriel...Great Property...Poor Location

I stayed at this property for one night when my room at the Hotel Zapata was made unavailable due to some plumbing issues. This hotel is owned by the same folks that own the Hotel Zapata (Roberto / Martha).

It is a brand new property with all the trimmings. The rooms are some fo the cleanest that I have ever seen (I am including North American hotels). The manager is "Ana".

The downside is that it is in the middle of nowhere. It is beyond the Hamaca across from the Boca Chica Marina Resturaunt and the Neptune Resturaunt. It is a hike to the beach and that section of the beach is not the nicest. They have a pool on property that has a mural of a beach (if you squint you think you are at the beach :cheeky: ).

I would not stay there unless you are opposed the beaches. You are much better off going to the Hotel Zapata and having a few drinks with Martha. Much more fun.

Good luck!

There are 3 AI's - check www.bocachicabeach.net for a list - the Dominican Bay (formerly the Boca Chica Resort) by Hotetur is nowhere near the beach and has a elevated walkay to the beach in a rather grubby part of it. The Hamaca and the Don Juan are on the beach and are equally boring.

If you don't want to leave the resort ,then go Juan Dolio. Very pretty. You are guaranteed to not have to meet any locals there.
