that the Dominican "EPPA" is finally moving in the intended direction with the announcement of the legal action being taken against culpable persons and businesses in the "Rock Ash" fiasco.

As reported on DR1 the day-before-yesterday, the EPA is citing Trans Dominicana Desarrolla for conveying and dumping the "Rock Ash" in both Samana and Manzanillo. In addition, the sindicados of those respective communities are being painted with the same brush for allowing such an action.

I wonder where it will all lead to??? Will they be prosecuted?? Will they be let off with a slap on the wrist or will they be heavily fined and placed in jail for their transgression.

It should be noted that TDD has filed a counter-suit to forestall their having to remove the offendinf material. On top of that, the locals in Manzanillo have begun to associate all sorts of "MAL SALUD" resulting from the rock ash deposits!! Wonder if it really is directly connected??? I'm sure the medics at the hospital haven't the vaguest idea but will go along with the greedy population attempting to extort outrageous payments from the ones responsible for the deposit of the "contaminants".
