Hi,
We?re now in Bayahibe, travelling 2 adults and 1 infant. What?s the best tips to get to Samana/Las Terrenas from here, and how long time should we reckon?

Till now, we?ve taken the easy way - taxi, but that is eating our budget fast. The Gua-guas seems a bit of a hassle with the little one, and so is all the changing of bus :sigh:

Anyone with any info??
Thanks in advance!

of all the options. Taxi, bus, gua gua. They each have their advantages and disadvantages regarding cost vs. convenience. What you need to do is get to Sabaneta de la Mar by whichever method you choose and then you can take the ferry across to Samana. A strictly land route will be very long. Here is a link to a map which will show you what I mean by that.

The other thing you could do is go to Punta Cana and get a domestic flight to Samana www.takeoffweb.com The cost for this is $75 per person one way. I suspect the baby could go free.

There are no buses going to Las Terrenas. The roads across the mountains leading there are too steep, windy and narrow for those big beasts. Your only options are taxi or gua gua.
