Re: Your political agenda and history lessons

Hi there-- I'm BAAAACK!!!

To DISMAYED and all...I am not so much MOTHERLY as one who loves the DR and her people and would love to see the country appreciated for ALL that it is...if people don't do at least LITTLE "homework" before they go to the DR, they lose a "piece of the heart" of the place.

THERE IS MORE TO THE DR THAN PRETTY BEACHES AND RESORTS...Have you visitedthe ZONA COLONIAL in Santo Domingo lately??? To thise who haven't, it is WELL worth the time...five hundred years of history can be seen in the space of only five or six city blocks. If you take the time, you can come away awestruck. I did...especially in the Alcazar cOLON, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Menor, and the FOrtaleza. There are also the Panteon Nacional, and the Casa Real. The beaches are nice, but there is more to the place than that...It's like appreciating a beautiful woman or handsome man...they are usually 'more than just a pretty face" if you take the time to look into the matter.

Thanks,

Dee
