Is the cable car at Mt. Isabella outside Puerto Plata running yet? It was supposed to be opened on August the 30th.

I was there until 6 September and it wasn't working. According to a taxi driver, it might open mid September!

Alexandra and Susanne I was there for 2 weeks in August and it was up and running for I went up the mountain to the botannical gardens. I was there the last 2 weeks in August. I am not sure why the taxi driver would say that but it was working

Well, I was there the last week of August and the first week of September. This last week the taxi-driver told us it didn't work!

The tour operators said that the cable car was NOT open to the public the first week of Sept. as I was there with Alexandra. They said it might open by the middle of Sept. You could ride a motorcycle up the road but not take the cable car. Did you go up by the cable car or the road???
