Hello Everyone,

Can you please advise if the Dominican Republic knows about April Fool's Day and if they do, if you were to do something, how would you say it. I am dying to pull a prank on my husband, but want to make sure I do it right. I read somewhere online that they know what it is, but how would I say it in Spanish?

No they don't. The have "inocente mariposa". But it's in January I think.

The Spanish tradition is to celebrate 'El dia de los inocentes' (28 January) by playing April fool-type practical jokes. I haven't noticed it being observed in the DR in any way comparable to the way the English-speaking world marks April Fools Day, although people are aware of its existence.
