I hope I am not stepping on any ones toes here, but let?s face it: a good part of the tourist do come to the DR because of the sex trade! If you take the brothels out of the DR it would be like taking the casinos out of Las Vegas...
Every one knows that weed is one of the major attractions in Jamaica, it would be hypocritical to deny it....Sure the DR as a lot to offer culturally, and the beaches are simply amazing....but the women do bring there contribution.
How much does the sex trade really represent to the DR's economy? Are there any statistics that are available on this topic? I may sound foolish, but I can often tell how well the DR is doing base on how well the prostitutes are doing... Isn't this a case of where the cure is worst then the disease?
