How are the storms and hurricanes affecting the DR, and more specifically the North Shore?

August and September are traditionally the peak hurricane season for the Caribbean, and the Dominican Republic. So far this year, the DR has not been affected by any hurricane. They have swerved north, affecting the south of the US, the Bahamas and the Bermudas. Have not heard of any weather report announcing a tropical storm off the coast of Africa, where they develop. It takes about two weeks for them to get to the Caribbean area. So, optimistically we forecast that the bad weather season is over for the DR, at least for this year.
