Excellent Mofi!

Mofi- well done again! (If you have to guess that's okay too).

Regarding flojo I like the way you are thinking. The reason why I did not put flojo as an option is because it also means d?bil (weak) and is usually used to mean lazy in a figurative sense. It just depends on how the word is used by the speaker but you are right it could be an option as well. Another common synonym for perezoso that I was considering using was holgaz?n.

There will be Part II later on.

Ok well we say flojo, but i could understand it being misunderstood if it also can mean weak. We use debil for week and flojo for lazy.
Estoy floja
Soy flojera
but its good to know the other words as well.

Well done Trina...but then again I am not surprised

Regarding s?bana and using it for blankets and sheets I never heard it used to refer to both. I would appreciate your comments. Also you indicated that for fastidiar/ molestar you use another word I am curious to know what it is. Gracias.

HI Lesley. Regarding sabana, I'm not sure why he uses it for both. I have no formal training, so everything I've learned is through communication. I wouldn't doubt that he uses the same word for both because he never really had a need for blankets in the house, and it could be as simple as not really knowing the word for blanket.(?)

As for molestar, someone from Sosua (Jane?) may be able to back me up here, but I've heard many people use (can I say this here? Will you still respect me??? ;) ) joder very very loosely. You might hear someone saying to a child, no me jodes , as if there was nothing wrong with it. In fact, they might even refer to a child as a jodon or jodoncito . Not in my house. But you may hear, Esta jefe jodes mucho!

Exactly - I rarely use it, but I know it's used quite loosely in some parts of the DR.

Ok now tell us what it means and why it would be offensive?

Thanks

Sent you a PM Anna. You can tell the rest :p .

Thanks Trina

After I posted I remembered that word coming up before in one of the threads long time ago. ;)

Any for anyone else that doesn't know it's the "F" word that I seldom use in any language.

Now about the word s?bana. That answers my question about sheets and blankets but is that a Dominican thing?
