I will be in Punta Cana this Friday and need to travel to Juan Dolio/Casa de Campo. Someone told me the new bridge is down, is this correct and if yes, can I still make it to Casa de Campo?

Bridge over Chavon River down?
"not down"
The new high bridge over the Chavon connecting La Romana to the East is "not down". I traveled over it this evening, Wednesday. However, the provisional low bridge constructed in the wake of Hurricane Jeanne's destruction of the previous bridge is being assaulted by high water and trees swept up by this past week's rains. Note: The provisonal bridge had been blocked off in recent months and has not been in service.
