I knew it as habitaci?n so what's is it commonly called in the DR?

Things found in la habitaci?n;

una cama (bed)
un bur? (highboy) the one without the mirror
una c?moda (dresser)
una manta o cobija (blanket)
almohada ( pillow)

How about sheets, pillowcases and bedspread? What are they called?

We have "closet" singular or plural
Armario (which is the old armoire)
Friza, which is the blanket
S?bana- sheet
Funda, the pillow case
cubrecama- which is the bed spread
Vestidor- which may or maynot include a dressing table
Gavetero- which is a chest of drawers
Piyamas and bata, which are for sleeping
Almohadas which are pillows
Mesitas de noche, which are the bedside tables

Nothing more comes to mind

HB :D:D:D

Oh yeah, remembered
mosquiteros which are mosquito nets
chancletas or calisos which are slippers or flip-flops

How could I forget the

Bo prine--the box spring!

HB :p:p

Edited to add: My Female Forum has informed me that
a) Bur? is the latinization of the French "bureau" but "gavetero" is used more often.
b) Coqueta or comodo is the woman's dressing table

I wonder if there is a translation of KY Jelly??

We'll have to start a whole new thread for what are sexual things called in Spanish.

I certainly have learned a new word this week. ;)

Old thread...I know.

HB: You forgot La Bacinilla (What is it in English? Urine basin...I know that's not it. I can't think of the word right now. It's like one of those things they give you to urinate in at the hospital).

Anyhow, back in the days when we didn't have indoor plumbing you'd have one of these by the side of the bed in case you needed to take a pi$$ in the middle of the night. They are still used...

I think you are referring to a urinal or bedpan?

Associated words:

manta - blanket
gaveta - dresser drawer
ponchera - urinal bowl
cortina - window curtains
armario - clothes closet as opposed to just a closet, typically in wood.
escrines - screens, no need for mosquitero!
cuna - baby crib

The old word in English was the chamber pot.
mkohn

In the farm country of eastern Ontario, we would have a container of water on the bureau and the chamber pot under the bed. The set was called a....wait for it......

A pitcher and catcher set.
