I am an American. I am doing a school project on the DOminican Republic, my question is what is the type of government used in DR? Please respond ASAP it's very important!

Ryan, I will keep it simple for you. The DR has a democratic form of government. The Constitution of 1966 has the government headed by a president and vice-president elected every four years. The bicameral National Congress comprises a 30 member Senate and a 120 member Chamber of Deputies. The members serve four year terms.

If you are curious, you may want to investigate why the United States had influence in the creation of The Constitution of 1966. Hint, had something to do with a civil war.
