The southwestern provinces of the DR are expected to feel the impact of Tropical Storm Dennis as it makes it way west through the Caribbean. As of 11 am on Tuesday, 5 July, the storm was making its way from Puerto Rico headed in the direction of Barahona, in the southwest, and then on to Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba, according to its forecast track.
As of 11:30 am, in Santo Domingo am hearing some thunder and looks like rain is coming, but would think nothing more than the usual shower (a change from the light breezes and blue skies of this morning).
First reports indicate that the storm is clearly headed west will not affect Santo Domingo, the north coast nor the southeastern and eastern tourist areas.
